Schnitzel Bites

  • Eggs, whisked 4.0 x
  • Plain flour 400.0 g
  • Smoky paprika 15.0 g
  • Chilli flakes 2.0 g
  • Panko breadcrumbs 550.0 g
  • Chicken thigh fillets, cut into 3cm pieces 1.0 kg


The natural smokiness from paprika in this dish is unmistakable and can be substituted by Hungarian or sweet paprika. Adjust the chilli level if desired, or try the addition of dried thyme or oregano to the spice mix.



  1. Schnitzel Bites

    • Whisk an egg with 150 ml of water until fully combined to make an egg wash. Combine flour with smoky paprika and chilli flakes.
    • In separate bowls, combine the seasoned flour, egg wash, and panko crumbs. Working in batches, coat the chicken in seasoned flour, then in egg wash and crumbs. Cover and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
    • Deep-fry schnitzel bites until golden and cooked through, then drain on paper towels.
  2. Gravy

    • Combine KNORR Golden Roast GF and warm water in a mixing bowl. Bring to a boil, whisking for 2–3 minutes or until thickened. Stir in KNORR Italiana Pronto Napoli GF and KNORR American Chipotle BBQ Sauce GF. Continue stirring until fully combined.
  3. To Serve

    • Serve the schnitzel bites with dipping sauce and lemon wedges, if desired.
    Serving suggestion: Accompany the dish with deep-fried kale chips and roasted cashews.
