Preparation

  1. What you need

    • Select the number of serves you require for this recipe, and the quantity of ingredients will be automatically adjusted accordingly.
  2. Meatloaf Burger

    • Place apple cider vinegar and maple syrup in a medium saucepan. Warm the mixture gently, stirring intermittently to ensure even heating.
    • Heat oil over medium heat in a large frypan and add the onion, cook until softened.
    • Add panko breadcrumbs and continue to stir until the crumbs are softened and moist. Stir in KNORR Beef Booster and some water, transfer mixture to a bowl and allow to cool slightly.
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine beef mince, eggs, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, KNORR Italiana Napolitana Sauce, parsley, salt and pepper.
    • Add the cooled onion crumb mixture to the bowl and mix thoroughly using your hands.
    • Shape the mixture into a loaf, smoothing out any creases to prevent cracking during cooking. Place the loaf into a tin and brush with the prepared glaze.
    • Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C for 40 minutes.
    • Remove from the oven, brush generously with more glaze and bake for an additional 15 minutes. Cover with foil if browning too much.
    • Rest in the tin for at least 10 minutes before turning out.
  3. Gravy

    • Combine KNORR Rich Brown Gravy and pomegranate molasses with warm water (500 ml per 10 serves). Bring to a boil, whisking for 2–3 minutes or until thickened.
  4. To Serve

    • Slice thick meatloaf, lightly toast the burger buns, then assemble tomato, lettuce and grilled brown onion, and finish with a drizzle of pomegranate molasses gravy.
  5. Chef Tip

    • Pair the meatloaf burger with thick-cut chips or crispy waffle fries for a hearty side. For a creative twist, use leftover meatloaf to make loaded fries topped with chunks of meatloaf, melted cheese and a drizzle of glaze.
