What you need

With the wide variety of mushrooms available in the market, it's possible to unleash your creativity for your signature mushroom sauce. In this recipe, shimeji mushrooms provide a mild nutty and umami flavour as well as a slightly crunchy texture.



  1. What you need

    • Select the number of serves you require for this recipe, and the quantity of ingredients will be automatically adjusted accordingly.  
  2. Steak

    • Season and cook New York steaks to preferred doneness.
  3. Mushroom Sauce

    • Heat oil in a pan and lightly fry the shimeji mushrooms. Be sure not to overcook. Remove and set aside.
    • Add the dry sherry and reduce. Add water and whisk in KNORR Jus, stirring until thickened over heat. Keep warm and ready for use.
  4. To Serve

    • Add shimeji mushrooms to sauce and serve with steak.
    • Serving suggestion: Pair this steak and mushrooms with a salad of potatoes, wild greens and radish.
